LEAP 2019 Conference

Livestock, Environment and People (LEAP) Conference 2019

10 December 2019

The second LEAP conference, sponsored by the Wellcome Trust Our Planet Our Health initiative, will take place on the 10th December at the Said Business School, Oxford. Building on the successful 2018 conference we will continue to bring together researchers working on multiple aspects of meat and dairy production and consumption to consider its effects on population health, the economy, society and the environment.

LEAP19 will include talks by two eminent plenary speakers - Prof. Corinna Hawkes, City University of London, and Prof. Andrew Balmford, University of Cambridge - and sessions on the latest cutting-edge research that address multiple issues around the production and consumption of meat and dairy. Topics will include natural and social science research on sustainability, diets and health, diet change, livelihoods and employment and meat substitutes. A major aim of the meeting is to build a community of researchers in this field who can share evidence and tools to further research on both negative and positive aspects of meat and dairy production and consumption.
